NAPLES, Fla. – A man suspected of being drunk grabbed a woman and kissed her before pulling out a gun in a hotel bar in Naples.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), deputies responded to a disturbance at the Naples Grande Hotel around 11:41 p.m. on Sunday.
It was reported that there was a fight at the bar, and customers were screaming there was a gun.
A woman says Raul Antonio Rodriquez Rojas, 48, was drunk at the bar and he shook his finger at her. The police report states she turned to her husband to tell him that she was uncomfortable and suggested they pay their tab so they could leave.
At that time, CCSO states Rodriquez Rojas came over to her, grabbed her head and kissed her. According to the woman, she never gave him consent and does not know Rodriquez Rojas.
Multiple witnesses tried to intervene. The report says they watched Rodriquez Rojas grab her head and kiss her without her permission, before grabbing a gun from his bag.
Deputies say Rodriquez Rojas would not follow orders or participate in questioning. When asked who he was, he gave the name “Claud”. During a pat down, deputies found a pistol.
Rodriquez Rojas was arrested and taken to the Naples Jail Center.
He faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, battery on a person 65 years old or older, fraud/impersonation/false information when arrested/detained, the use of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, carrying his firearm at prohibited locations and disorderly intoxication.
