TAOS, N.M. — In an apparent humorous post, the Taos County Sheriff’s Office has offered safety tips for campers in the area due to a “Bigfoot warning”.
The humorous “warning” states that the species are coming down from the high country to the Kern River, which is not a river in New Mexico, to hunt for fish and vegetation. If you happen to see one, here’s what they are saying to do:
Do’s
- Go about your business
- Take photos documenting the event
Don’ts
- Do not run toward or away from Bigfoot
- Do not yell
- Do not try to feed Bigfoot
The Taos County Sheriff’s Office appears to be having fun with the oft-viewed mythical creature, Yeti.
The social media post made by the sheriff’s office during the Fourth of July weekend wished everyone “a happy and safe (and funny) holiday weekend.”
