Gayle King And Charles Barkley Announce New Primetime Show ‘King Charles’ Coming To CNN [Video] – Baller Alert

CNN announced a new primetime show with Gayle King and Charles Barkley will debut this fall.

“King Charles” is slated to begin airing at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesdays later this year and run through 2024. The two discussed the upcoming hour-long show Saturday on TNT’s “NBA Tip-off.”

While the two admitted they were not looking to add to their workload, they felt it would be a good fit. King and Barkley described the show as “non-political” despite discussing politics. The two believe they can have an honest and civil conversation without creating “click-bait.”

“All I want is for people, even if I disagree with them, to be honest with me,” Barkley said.

Barkley and King promise to deliver an honest discussion surrounding current events—some examples of topics to be discussed range from gun control to pop culture.

Despite being called “King Charles,” the show’s name has nothing to do with the British monarch. Instead, it combines the two hosts’ names, combining Gayle King’s last and Charles Barkley’s first names.

King and Barkley will continue in their current roles on the network, with King still anchoring CBS Mornings and Barkley remaining at WBD Sports.
