The headlines and ink go towards the five- and four-stars every season, but there is always a crop of players that colleges have missed on and talents having breakout seasons. In the state of Georgia, underclassmen are taking advantage of the playing time turning the spotlight their way with fresh offers getting dropped.
National recruiting analysts Ryan Wright looks at some of the top risers this fall from the Peach State high school gridirons.

WRIGHT’S RISERS
Already a four-star in the 2025 class, Williams has not disappointed during his sophomore season with Charlton County High School. A freak athlete earning All-State in basketball as a freshman, Williams is an impact player on offense at receiver and on defense as a weakside end. He even changes momentum of games on special teams blocking punts.
Seven college programs have offered highlighted by Cincinnati, Florida State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. The Seminoles got Williams on campus over the summer months on two occasions and Williams was on hand for the Volunteers upset against the Crimson Tide on Oct. 15.
Once the 2022 college football season ends and the Early Signing Period wraps, Williams’ offer sheet is set to skyrocket once programs can take a deeper look at the underclassmen.

Over at Alexander High School, Jordan Bride is having a breakout season. The junior has secured 30 passes for 444 yards with two touchdowns splitting targets with 2023 Western Kentucky commit Eric Singleton, who is also having a big season (49/794/8).
College teams are starting to take notice of Bride over the offseason with in-season offers coming from Charlotte and Marshall. Bride is another prospect that will benefit from offseason evaluations, camps, and 7-on-7 events. The three-star recruit reports 11 scholarship offers.

Another 2025 talent to watch on recruiting boards is Mantrez Walker. The linebacker from Georgia powerhouse Buford High School has 10 reported offers with Arkansas, Florida, Duke, and Ohio State among the teams in the mix. The recruiting process is taking off for Walker with game-day visits this fall to South Carolina and Ohio State.

Playing behind All-American running back Justice Haynes doesn’t allow for a lot of touches, but when given the opportunity Justin Baker is making the most of his carries. Built like a Mack truck, Baker has future super star written all over him. The scholarships have not piled up yet, but the four-team list is impressive with Arkansas, Penn State, and USC on him receiving the feather in the cap nod from UGA on Oct. 17.

Walker got a jump on his peer group as a freshman putting an impressive 2021 season together racking up 39 tackles and 16 tackles for a loss. Limited to three games this season, that has slowed his recruiting process but not the enthusiasm over what he can do on the field. Playing inside backer for Schley County, the sophomore projects as an outside backer at the next level able to create chaos off the edge.
By June 1, Walker already had 22 offers with Mississippi State and Texas A&M joining the party over the summer. Alabama and Florida State hosted Walker on visits this summer. The recruiting battle for Walker will heat up this spring.
