After nearly a year of waiting, fans can finally stop calling Jimin’s highly-anticipated solo album “PJM1.” In a Feb. 21 statement posted on Weverse, Big Hit revealed Jimin’s album title is “Face,” and the onslaught of information about the album has been non-stop ever since. On the same day as the album name announcement, Big Hit revealed all the details about Jimin’s physical album versions and rollout. Then on Feb. 22, they shared Jimin’s promotional schedule, which includes the release of two singles and music videos.
This is all a major change of pace for fans. Jimin kept much of his solo plans close to the chest leading up to February, apart from letting fans know he’s “working” on it on multiple occasions and dropping “Vibe,” a collaboration with Big Bang’s Taeyang.
Jimin gave insight into what it’s been like recording an album on his own for the first time in a January 2022 interview with W Korea. “So many things are different,” he said. “Since I am working alone, it makes me think a lot, which makes outcomes slower. When I work with the members, we talk about lots of things and clear them quickly. I think the problem is doing it for the first time. Since I am working on an album like this for the first time, ‘Can it be released like this?’ I am having lots of thoughts like that, which makes me modify more and do it over.”
In addition to all the information Big Hit has revealed officially, Korean media outlets are reporting that Jimin has some exciting performances planned. Meanwhile, he’s teased that he’s working with some big-name producers, while J-Hope may have revealed a potential collab with Justin Bieber in the works.
Ahead, read everything to know about Jimin’s “Face” album, including the release date, concept, the title’s meaning, the promotional schedule, and more.
