Shortly after putting APIs behind a paywall, rendering many automated bots useless in a few days time,and sharing ad revenue with creators whho subscribe to Twitter Blue for ads that appear in their threads (oh boy, more sun lamps and vibrators on hit tweets!), Local Man has decided that no only will his loser fans have the privilege to pay for a checkmark, but brands will be able to as well.
Twitter is reportedly emailing businesses offering gold check mark verification for $1000 PER MONTH!

Professional accounts are now marked with a gold verification badge (see Variety above). They will now have the privilege of paying 1k a month for that and 50$ for affiliated accounts — “which will get a small badge of their parent company’s profile picture next to their own blue or gold check-mark.“, which all sounds like a visual design nightmare.
So the verified accounts can be blue or gold? what if a business opts to get a blue verification badge for cheaper? is the profitability of Twitter in the room with us right now?
