Star Wars: A New Hope will be dubbed in the Welsh language for the first time. Star Wars: Gobaith Newydd will feature a voice cast including Matthew Rhys as Han Solo, Rhys Ifans as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Princess Leia, Mark Lewis Jones as Darth Vader, and Osian Morgan as Luke Skywalker. It will debut on Welsh channel S4C this Christmas.
The original Star Wars film has been dubbed in over 50 languages. Recently, it was dubbed in the Ojibwe language in a partnership between Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council, the University of Manitoba, Lucasfilm, and APTN, to boost the profile of the endangered language.
