Hyundai supports young Filipino footballers ahead of Hyundai Cup 2026

Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) is supporting grassroots football activities for young Filipino athletes ahead of Hyundai Cup 2026, which will run across Southeast Asia from July 24 to August 26. The local program includes football camps and clinics, equipment support, the inaugural Hyundai Cup Fun Day, and an opportunity for selected young players to serve as Kids Escorts during the tournament’s opening match in the Philippines. The initiatives form part of Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific’s regional “Hyundai, Driving ASEAN as One” campaign, which uses football and mobility to promote connection among Southeast Asian communities.

Grassroots support for young footballers

HMPH has partnered with grassroots football camps and clinics in Metro Luzon to provide equipment and support aspiring young players. Outstanding participants from these clinics will be selected to join the inaugural Hyundai Cup Fun Day at the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub on July 18.

During the event, young athletes will have another opportunity to be chosen as Kids Escorts for the Hyundai Cup 2026 opening game in the Philippines. The selected children will walk alongside the national teams of Myanmar and the Philippines during the July 28 match at New Clark City Athletics Stadium.

“We at Hyundai Motor Philippines have always advocated for excellence and passion in sports, more so when we get to support homegrown talents,” said Cecil Capacete, managing director of Hyundai Motor Philippines. “We are happy to provide opportunities for these young footballers to showcase their potential and make their journey as athletes even more memorable. With local initiatives of the Hyundai Cup 2026, we underscore our role as a mobility partner for Filipino families, both on the road and on the football pitch.”

A regional campaign built around football

Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific has also unveiled a new chapter of its “Hyundai, Driving ASEAN as One” campaign film ahead of the tournament. As title partner of Hyundai Cup 2026, the company is drawing on more than 27 years of involvement in global sports to connect football fans across Southeast Asia. The campaign supports Hyundai Motor Company’s “Progress for Humanity” vision, which emphasizes shared progress and the role of mobility in bringing people together.

“Hyundai Cup 2026 is more than a football tournament, it is a celebration of what ASEAN stands for: diversity, resilience, and the unbreakable spirit of togetherness,” said Faraz Shamsi, executive marketing director of Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific.

“Through this main film and our ‘Driving ASEAN as One’ campaign, we want every fan across the region to feel that Hyundai is with them on this journey. At Hyundai, our vision of Progress for Humanity is not just a tagline; it is our commitment to driving meaningful change and connection in every market we serve.”

STARGAZER leads Hyundai’s campaign

The Hyundai STARGAZER serves as the campaign’s hero model. Hyundai positions the vehicle around family mobility, connection, and shared journeys, reflecting the campaign’s regional theme. The STARGAZER will be displayed alongside the CRETA at participating football camps and clinics, giving attending families an opportunity to view the two models.

The campaign content is also being released through Hyundai’s official social media channels across ASEAN. Fans in the tournament’s 11 participating nations can expect match-day stadium activities, giveaways, and vehicle test-drive opportunities.

Test-drive activities until August 31

Football fans and prospective customers in the Philippines may test-drive the Hyundai CRETA and STARGAZER at selected Hyundai dealerships until August 31. Participating customers may receive exclusive Hyundai Cup 2026 merchandise, subject to dealership availability and applicable promotion terms.

Connecting mobility and sports

Through its regional campaign and Philippine grassroots initiatives, Hyundai is using its Hyundai Cup 2026 partnership to connect its mobility branding with football development and family participation. For young athletes, the local clinics and Hyundai Cup Fun Day provide opportunities to develop their skills, take part in organized activities, and potentially join the national teams on the field during the tournament’s Philippine opening match.
