MIT engineers created an air-permeable hydrogel by using tiny silica aerogel particles to form interconnected tunnels. The material stays hydrated and stretchy while reducing sweat buildup and skin irritation, which could make bandages, wearable sensors, implants, and other hydrogel products last longer.
