Tim Allen goes on podcast says he was treated as badly as people of colour

@mikerowepodcastfan Tim Allen say he was pigeonholed what you think in comments? #podcastclips #timallen #storytelling #motivation #viralvideo ♬ original sound – Tim Allen

He starts by saying “I was treated just as badly as people of colour…” at this point, you might be wondering what injustice Tim suffered? turns out he was recalling the time he was arrested in 1978 with more than half a kilo of cocaine.

He goes on to say he was pigeonholed because he was “lightskinned guy” – *Record scratch* as you can see from the video, Tim Allen is a white man, “lightskinned” is typically used to describe variations in skintone of POC…. let’s carry on…he says he was pigeonholed because he was a light-skinned guy from a middle/upper-middle-class family (not because he was caught white handed with coke) so the police were really after him and wanted to make an example of him. His mother lost faith in the US legal system.

The interviewer asked if Tim doesn’t think he should have been charged. Tim says he didn’t have a pre-sentencing report and to him, it was set up. He won’t have had any idea where to sell the coke and the police and DEA did all the set up. And it was predetermined what was going to happen to him before he was “in there”. The interviewer asks if this has been proven or if it is just Tim’s theory? Tim says he hasn’t been allowed to see his pre-sentence report – the only people in it are a DEA agent and the arresting officer. The interviewer asks what a pre-sentence report report is – Tim says you go in there with your attorney and the judge decided whether you are on bail or not. OP, is not sure how this would prove that Tim was set up. US courts.gov tell me that  Presentence report summarizes information gathered during the presentence investigation, including the offense, prior criminal history, social history, applicable advisory Federal Sentencing Guidelines, and victim impact statements.

For those unfamiliar with the case, In October 1978, Tim Allen (25) and someone else were caught by undercover police at Battle Creek International Airport with 650g of coke. He pled guilty to the drug trafficking charges and faced up to a life sentence in prison, but he named names and got a reduced sentence of three to seven years in prison. He only spent two years and four months prison. He was paroled in 1981.

If you believe Tim’s version of event, it was all a set up – so why did he pled guilty and whose name did he give police?
