Karolina Wydra on her triumphant return to acting with Pluribus

[ad_1]

* Karolina was born and raised in Opole, Poland until her family immigrated to the US in the 90s. She got her start in the entertainment industry in the late 90s as a model. She was in some major ad campaigns, including this 2006 Nespresso ad with George Clooney:

* She took a hiatus during COVID to become a SAHM; her agent and manager decided that they didn’t want to represent her anymore as a result. “I was a 40-year-old woman, and so I wasn’t sure how I would ever come back when I was ready.” Prior to Pluribus, the last role she had was in 2019.

* Not in the Deadline article, but Karolina did a podcast where she mentioned she was on vacation in Mexico with her bff, Outlander actress Caitriona Balfe, when she got the call that casting wanted to test her for Pluribus. Karolina started freaking out because she didn’t have representation. Caitriona told her to calm tf down and hooked Karolina up with Caitriona’s manager, Brian. Brian talked to casting on Karolina’s behalf and also set Karolina up with her lawyer, who negotiated the deal.

[more under the cut, spoilers for the season finale]* Karolina CLAIMS to stay offline when it comes to the show: “I read very little because I’m way too sensitive and too fragile. As much as I want to be that person — ‘I don’t care what anybody thinks’ — it’s hard not to.”

* Karolina feels very, very protective of Zosia: “I do feel protective of Zosia because I had to work on all that stuff, and I had to really believe in it. The Plurbs [The Others] do love her. They genuinely, truly — Zosia loves her, truly loves her, and she loves her unconditionally, and she wants nothing but to make her happy.” As a stursia truther, her reaction to the season finale (when we find out that the plurbs have gotten ahold of Carol’s frozen eggs and are planning to convert her without her consent) was, “What the fuck?” But she doesn’t think this is the end of stursia.
