Teen suspect arrested in Flats bar shooting after chase

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Cleveland police announced an arrest Friday in connection to a shooting last month in the Flats that injured six people.

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, officers attempted a traffic stop near East 46th Street and Carnegie Avenue on Thursday around 3:30 p.m.

The driver eventually came to a stop near the 2000 block of West 52nd Street.

Police said that’s when everyone in the vehicle got out and ran.

Cleveland police took two suspects into custody, according to a press release.

Police said the driver had warrants out for his arrest related to the shooting in the Cleveland Flats district.

He’s a 17-year-old male and not being identified.

Police said he was also armed.

The shooting in the Flats happened on September 7.

Police said more than 40 shell casings were found at the scene from four different weapons.

One person has previously been arrested in the case.

Police arrested a second suspect who was in the vehicle for an unrelated case.
