CLEVELAND (WJW) — A man assaulted early Tuesday, Sept. 30, and found by police outside a downtown Cleveland apartment building was transported to a hospital with “significant injuries,” according to police.
Cleveland police Third District officers responded just before 3 a.m. to a report of an assault at 1012 Prospect Avenue East, according to a police spokesperson.
That’s the address of Winton Manor Apartments.
Officers found the victim, a 34-year-old man, on the ground and the alleged attacker, a 29-year-old man, standing over him.
Investigators learned the suspect was arguing with another person, then assaulted the victim when he intervened, according to the release.
EMS workers gave the victim first aid then transported him to the hospital for more treatment, according to the release.
Police arrested the 29-year-old at the scene with pending charges of felonious assault.
The investigation is ongoing.
