CLEVELAND (WJW) — A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed just after midnight on Sunday, Sept. 28, according to police.
Investigators learned those involved in the shooting had attended a party earlier that night at a short-term rental home, according to a news release.
Police responded to a report of people “arguing and fighting” in the area of West 130th Street and Lorain Avenue at about 12:19 a.m., according to the release. Then came a report of gunshots.
Officers arrived on scene to find a 16-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the release. Cleveland EMS pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the boy as 16-year-old Aniaz Paradiso, of Parma. He was reportedly found dead outside near the intersection of West 131st Street and Lorain Avenue.
Police deployed a helicopter and K-9 unit and used Real Time Crime Center data to identify and apprehend the 18-year-old suspect, who was transported to the Cuyahoga County jail pending charges.
The Cleveland police Homicide Unit is actively investigating.
