SOLON, Ohio (WJW) — Police who arrested a man and a woman following an armed robbery at a T-Mobile store on Saturday said they had the woman’s 4-year-old son with them at the time.
Officers received a report of an armed robbery at the T-Mobile store, 6465 SOM Center Road, just after 11:30 a.m. that day, according to a news release.
An employee told police he helped a woman who was with a young child and stepped away from them when he needed to check something in the store’s back room.
The employee said he was “surprised” by a man who came into the store, pointing a handgun at him and ordering him to dump mobile devices into a garbage bag.
The man fled, and the woman also left with the child, according to the report. About 43 smartphones and tablets were stolen, valued at more than $23,000, according to police.
Managers were able to track one of the stolen devices, which was seen moving around Solon suburbs, according to the release. It eventually stopped at a salon along Northfield Road, according to the release.
Pursuing officers from Solon and Bedford didn’t have a description of the suspects’ car, but after searching the parking lot found a parked, unoccupied SUV with new cell phone boxes in the backseat, according to the release.
A person at the salon told police dispatchers a man and woman were hiding out inside. Officers found suspects inside, along with the 4-year-old boy.
The T-Mobile employee identified the man, woman and child from the previous encounter in the store, according to the release.
The man, identified as Anthony C. Gore, 32, of Bedford, was arrested and charged with a felony count of aggravated robbery.
The woman, identified as Erica F. Mosley, 27, of Cleveland, was arrested on a felony count of complicity to aggravated robbery and a misdemeanor count of endangering children.
Both are now in the Solon jail. The boy was released to a family member, according to police.
Officers did not find the handgun, but they recovered about $4,000 in cash from the suspects, according to the release. It’s unclear how much cash was stolen during the robbery.
The case is still under investigation and detectives are working to “retrace” the suspects’ steps, according to the release. Authorities said it’s likely the two will face additional charges.
Bedford Municipal Court records do not list future court dates for the suspects.
