“We don’t boo guys who are injured on the field” – Myles Garrett
The Cleveland Browns’ defensive end and the reigning defensive player of the year, Myles Garrett, minced no words at his postgame press conference yesterday afternoon.
Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered an apparent season-ending leg injury late in the second quarter of yesterday’s game against the Bengals. Moments after the game ended Garrett addressed the media.

“Whether it’s an opponent that goes down or one of our own, we don’t boo,” Garrett said after the game. “We don’t boo guys that are injured on the field, especially when the cart comes out. We should be ashamed of ourselves, as Browns and as fans, to boo anyone and their downfall.”
Monday morning it was confirmed that Watson suffered a torn Achilles and will miss the remainder of the season.
Garrett wasn’t the only one vocally opposed to the disgusting behavior at Huntington Bank Field. Jameis Winston spoke out as well. “I am very upset with the reaction to a man that has had the world against him for the past four years and he put his body and his life on the line for this city every single day,” Winston said.

Following Watson’s injury, Browns’ backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson replaced the injured quarterback in the second quarter. Third-string emergency QB Jameis Winston finished the game after Thompson-Robinson suffered an apparent hand injury.
Cleveland has another home game against the division-rival Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
