Honda has unveiled the N-VAN e:, a new commercial-use mini-EV, set to go on sale in Japan on October 10, 2024. This model builds on the popular gasoline-powered N-VAN, offering unique EV features such as a power output function and a quiet cabin while maintaining a large cargo space, flat low floor, high ceiling, and large passenger side opening.

The N-VAN e: combines a large-capacity battery, a downsized eAxle, and a centralized layout of high-voltage components to provide a practical range of 245 km (152 miles) on a single charge in WLTC mode. Charging times are approximately 4.5 hours for normal charging (6.0 kW) and about 30 minutes for fast charging (50 kW).

Four types of N-VAN e: are available to meet a wide range of customer needs for both commercial and personal uses.

– **e: L4**: Standard 4-seater for various commercial and personal uses.

– **e: FUN**: Designed for leisure activities with added features like fast charging and LED headlights.

– **e: G**: Single-seat model focused on commercial functionality.

– **e: L2**: Front/rear tandem seating, emphasizing ease of use for loading and unloading.

Advanced safety and driver-assistive functions are available for all types as standard features. The N-VAN e: will be the first model among all commercial-use light van models available in the market to be equipped with side curtain airbags for both the driver and front passenger seats as standard equipment. The N-VAN e: also will be the first model among all mini-vehicle models in Japan to adopt the Post-Collision Braking System, a technology to mitigate secondary damage in the event of a collision. Prices in Japan range from 2,699,400 yen ($17,170) to 2,919,400 yen ($18,570), depending on the model.
