Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper got the OK to bring alcohol back to CNN.
“It’s the top of the hour and we’ve been here for seven years doing this, and for most of those years at the top of the hour we typically have a toast,” Cohen said early on in the broadcast, turning to Cooper. “I’m hearing from a lot of people…does Daddy get his juice?”
“Can Daddy get his juice responsibly?” Cooper asked, before Cohen pulled out a bottle of tequila and shot glasses.
Back in November 2022, then-CEO Chris Licht announced that CNN would be dialing down alcohol consumption for its New Year’s telecast. Cohen begged new CEO Mark Thompson to allow them to bring back booze.

CNN was under constant attack by Trump. Something Kathy was aware of. She was personally requested by Zucker to not provoke Trump. She went ahead and did that photoshoot. Not for a great cause or anything. Just to promote her tour. The right wong seized on it to attack CNN. “CNN is ISIS” was trending WW on twitter, CNN was getting death threats. Kathy herself freaked out and apologized after half a day. And every CNN anchor had to make a statement denouncing the photoshoot. Anderson was the only one who did not mention it on air. He tweeted after she had herself distanced herself from the photoshoot and ONLY AND ONLY denounced the photoshoot. For Kathy herself, he has only said nice things. Google it.
And Kathy herself told Stern Anderson texted her multiple times last year, she ignored him. So why is she acting like he ended the friendship? andy was hired after that. She also said that for the last five years before the photoshoot she only saw Anderson at NYE. And that she called up everyone after the photoshoot but not anderson (before he tweeted). And today she said anderson has constantly bragged about his CNN salary. When has he even mentioned it?
I want to support Kathy, but her vendetta against anderson is just pettiness. She wants everyone to hate him. She is lucky he has too much class to strike back
