An employee of the Senate has been terminated after he allegedly recorded a video of himself engaging in sexual activity within a congressional hearing room.
The room in which the video was recorded has been a silent observer of several significant historical events, such as former FBI director James Comey’s testimony on Donald Trump in 2016 and the 9/11 commission hearings.
Maese-Czeropski seemed to allude to the situation in a LinkedIn post, though without explicitly referencing the video.
“This has been a difficult time for me, as I have been attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda,” he wrote. “While some of my actions in the past have shown poor judgement, I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace.”
The statement continued, “Any attempts to characterize my actions otherwise are fabricated, and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters.”
Additionally, George Santos, a recently removed ex-congressman who is openly gay, shared his perspective on the matter in a post on Twitter.
“Having sex in a United States government building and filming it is the reason you got heat,” he wrote. “You being gay and having gay sex, NO BODY gives a rats ass.”
