Woman, 62, found dead in her NYC apartment of apparent strangulation

A 62-year-old woman found dead in her Queens NYCHA apartment early Monday was likely strangled, police said.

Medics responding to a 1:03 a.m. 911 call found the woman’s body inside her South Jamaica Houses apartment on 159th St. near 109th Ave., cops said. Her name was not immediately released.

The victim had hemorrhaging in her eyes, a sign she had likely been strangled, police sources said. The city Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine her cause of death.
