WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A West Springfield house on Paucantuck Road is dazzling the neighborhood with its elaborate Halloween decorations while raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The house is adorned with strobe lights, scarecrows, skeletons, spiders, and other spooky decorations, creating a festive atmosphere for visitors.
The homeowners have set up a QR code at the front of the house, allowing visitors to easily donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, which provides life-saving care to children with cancer and other serious illnesses.
“We have a lot of, you know, neighbors that look forward to it. So anything that brings joy to you, you know, people that you know, tough times all the time. So it’s nice to bring a smile once in a while,” said Terrence Leahy, a West Springfield resident.
Last year, the homeowners raised $500 for St. Jude and are hopeful to exceed that amount this year. The house is part of a ‘Fright Map’ that guides visitors to various decorated homes in West Springfield. This initiative not only spreads Halloween cheer but also supports a charitable cause.
The ‘Fright Map’ is available online, helping residents and visitors find the most creatively decorated homes in the area. The homeowners are excited to contribute to the community spirit and support a worthy cause through their Halloween display.
