Martin Garrix soundtracked 2024’s first heartbeats from a DJ booth perched dramatically atop an architectural marvel, the Erasmus Bridge.

More than 60,000 people reportedly lined the quays in Rotterdam to watch the Dutch National Fireworks show, with which Garrix’s team produced a custom audiovisual performance to align. Just hours prior, the superstar DJ was in Bali headlining the New Year’s Eve celebration at Atlas, the world’s largest beach club.

After meeting the Mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, Garrix ascended the iconic bridge’s towering single pylon, which stands at a height of 456 feet. The sleek structure earned the nickname “The Swan” after opening in 1996, according to its designer, Ben van Berkel.

When the clock struck midnight, Garrix ushered in 2024 with an apropos spin of his fan-favorite hit, “High On Life.” You can watch his full performance below.
