Flava D teamed up with Hospital Records to drop a sublime mix consisting entirely of music created by female-identifying producers.

When the iconic playwright Ntozake Shange said, “Where there is a woman, there is magic,” she was talking about the drum & bass scene.

Okay, not really. But that quote is real—and it rings true in the case of Flava D, who celebrated International Women’s Day by recording a captivating DJ set. The renowned Brit has teamed up with Hospital Records to drop a sublime drum & bass mix consisting entirely of music created by female-identifying producers.

The hourlong set features a bevy of originals and remixes from Flava D, but the bulk of it comprises music from other producers that she said “really needs to get some recognition.” A few of the tracks she gave for a spin include Sweetpea’s “Brewdog,” Kyrist’s “Wreckage” and Nia Archives’ “Baianá.”

Meanwhile, Hospital Records is on the verge of their 500th release after 27 years of transformative drum & bass music. Flava D will appear on the landmark Hospital 500 compilation alongside Netsky, Hybrid Minds, London Elektricity and many more. Fans can pre-order the record here ahead of its release on March 31st.
