Lanes of I-540 reopen after multiple brush fires

Drivers were urged to avoid the area while emergency crews got control of the fires.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — Wake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating multiple brush fires along I-540 as arson.

The fires closed all lanes of I-540 at Capital Boulevard at one point on Saturday, but they have since reopened.

The fires were reported at several locations along I-540 near Glenwood Avenue, Leesville Road, Creedmoor Road, Falls of Neuse Road, and Capital Boulevard.
