Virgin Atlantic has agreed to purchase up to 70 million gallons of sustainable aviation fuel over seven years from producer Gevo, which will be supplied by Virgin’s joint venture partner Delta Air Lines, the U.K.-based carrier announced Tuesday. The fuel will be delivered into Los Angeles and San Francisco and come from one of Gevo’s future production facilities, according to Virgin Atlantic.
