Thousands of people have watched video of a group of friends tracking a vehicle from an Amber Alert.

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — A group of friends driving near Largo over last weekend spotted a vehicle connected to an Amber Alert — and caught the moment on video.

On Aug. 30, Prince George’s County police issued an Amber Alert for a missing 1-year-old girl. The alert identified a Volkswagen SUV connected to the case.

Not long after the alert went out, Jawhon Green said he and his friends were driving near Six Flags when they saw the vehicle right next to them.

“This was really like… right place, right time, I’m not gonna lie,” Green said.

Cell phone video shows the group’s reaction as they realized the car matched the description from the alert.

“Oh my god, that’s it!” one person says in the video.

Green said he immediately called police.

“You don’t really know too much with Amber Alerts, so it was like just better safe than sorry, call the cops,” he said.

A second video shows the moment police stopped the vehicle.

“We were coming back from Target, going back to my house, and we saw the man get pulled over,” Green said.

Prince George’s County police confirmed the Amber Alert was resolved, and the 1-year-old girl was found safe. Officials declined to release additional details about the circumstances.

For Green, it’s an alert he says he won’t forget.

“Most of the Amber Alerts are like all around Maryland, so it’s like this one was really rare — to have it directly in front of my face,” he said.
