‘Unconfirmed threat’ prompts shelter-in-place order at Gunn High School in Palo Alto

An “unconfirmed threat” towards Gunn High School in Palo Alto prompted a shelter-in-place order Monday afternoon, police said.

“All students and staff are safe at this time,” the Palo Alto Police Department posted on X.

Nearby Fletcher Middle School is also under a shelter-in-place order as a precautionary measure, police said.

Officers are at both schools on Arastradero Road, investigating the threat.
