The new Barbie movie is due for release in just over a month, July 21. Alongside all of the many promotional materials for the arguably era-defining film starring Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling, Tiësto has teamed up with Danish Europop band AQUA for the first-ever official remix of their hit “Barbie Girl” since it was released in 1997.

Unfortunately, the remix is nothing especially creative to write home about. It’s a dance remix of a europop song from nearly three decades ago — we’re not exactly reinventing the wheel here. Tiësto does his job admirably adding some modern synths and a different rhythm and drum pattern, but you’ll probably still end up playing the original far more.
