Three officers were shot in Bristol, Connecticut, on Wednesday night, police said.
Connecticut State Police said the shooting occurred near Redstone Hill Road and Birch Street, local news station station WFSB reported.
Residents heard between 20 and 30 gunshots as officers were seen surrounding a house, according to Eliza Kruczynski, a reporter with WFSB.
The extent of the officers’ injuries was not immediately known. No information about a suspect or suspects and the circumstances that led to the shooting was immediately released.
There is a significant police presence in the area, according to video of the scene shared on social media.
Connecticut State Police have been contacted for comment.
