THQ Nordic announced that it’s delaying its new Alone in the Dark title yet again. Instead of launching next January, the game will now launch on March 20, 2024. According to THQ Nordic, the game is being moved to avoid developers crunching during the holiday season.

“The well-being of our teams is a top priority, and both companies want to avoid any potential crunch over the holidays,” said the publisher in a statement, speaking both for itself and developer Pieces Interactive. “Furthermore, THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive want to ensure that the game not only meets but exceeds the expectations of the community, especially with the outstanding performances of Hollywood stars David and Jodie as the main protagonists.”

Alone in the Dark was originally intended to launch in October this year, but the publisher delayed the game to January. It did this, by its own admission, to avoid the very crowded October release window. The release windows in January 2024 and March 2024 are much leaner than the original month, but that’s not to say Alone in the Dark won’t have some competition. Dragon’s Dogma 2, Princess Peach: Showtime! and Rise of the Ronin all release on March 22, two days after Alone in the Dark’s new release date.
