Thousands of T-Mobile customers across major U.S. cities experienced service outages affecting texting, internet and streaming Monday, according to Downdetector.
WASHINGTON — Thousands of T-Mobile customers took to social media Monday evening to report their cell service being disrupted.
More than 62,000 people reported an outage by 5 p.m. ET, according to Downdetector. Reports started coming in around 4:30 p.m. ET. By 6 p.m. Et, reports dropped down to just shy of 22,000.
The outage is reportedly affecting mobile services like texting, internet, T-Mobile apps, email, TV streaming and more.
T-Mobile is responding to customers on X, saying they are investigating the issues being brought to their attention.
“Our teams are actively working the reports of technical challenges impacting some customers. Any service impacts are in the process of being resolved and are our highest priority,” T-Mobile said in a statement posted to social media. “We know how critical it is to stay connected, and every available resource is focused on resolving this as quickly as possible.”
Downdetector’s outage map shows the outage primarily affecting users on the East Coast with the largest amount of reports coming from New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis and Los Angeles.
It’s unclear what prompted the outage. No other information is known at this time.
