A little black dress may have the reputation of being one of the most versatile pieces someone can own, but in my closet, that honor goes to a shiny teal design. Over a year ago, I found myself searching for something cute to wear to a friend’s wedding. I wanted a look that felt modern yet easy, fancy without being over-the-top. After an extensive search, I came across the perfect pick: superdown’s Sophie Draped Mini Dress, which I bought off Revolve for $88 and ended up pairing with metallic heels.

Not every wedding guest dress I’ve purchased in the past has ended up being a winner. A few too many have been one-and-done wears, which is wasteful on so many different levels. But this one has proven to be different. It somehow toes the line between dressed up and casual and is also weirdly comfortable — since it’s so loose and not at all constricting, it almost feels like I’m wearing pajamas. I’ve found myself reaching for it time and time again, rocking it with knee-high boots at birthday parties or slipping on chunky sandals for a nice date night outfit.

Aside from teal, this draped dress comes in seven other colors, including black, red, and light pink. Plus, if you’re a bride-to-be, you’ll be happy to know there are not one but two shades of white to choose from — regular white and white satin.

According to reviews, some people have even bought multiples versions of this dress, which is something that I’m considering doing myself, especially ahead of the holiday season.

“I love this dress so much I bought 3 different colors the green, red, and pink,” one happy customer wrote. “Let’s just say every time I wear it I get so many compliments and this dress is sexy yet classy!”
