Dr. Martens have been around for decades as a comfortable and forward shoe choice. The range of silhouettes—including the timeless boots—have continued to increase in popularity over the years but now with the rise of the alt-girl aesthetic and the return of pop-punk to our radio waves, the iconic brand is undoubtedly having its moment again. The shoes have become one of the go-to silhouettes amongst celebrities and fashion people alike, but it’s the budding style stars of Generation Z who are some of the brand’s most loyal supporters. Well, one Gen Zer, in particular: Olivia Rodrigo.
She may not be alone in her obsession with Dr. Martens, but the influence of the Grammy award-winning artist and “Driver’s License” singer can’t be understated. One scroll through her Instagram feed confirms it: whether she’s on stage performing or being a tourist in Europe, Rodrigo can usually be found in a pair of Dr. Martens. From our observations, she prioritizes the platform Jadon Boots but we’ve also spotted her in loafers from the brand, among other styles.
