The Hold Steady have released a new song, ‘Sixers’, the second offering from their forthcoming album The Price of Progress. It follows last month’s lead single ‘Sideways Skull’. Check it out below.

“This song had it’s origins back in the pandemic,” frontman Craig Finn explained on Twitter. “I was staying in a building that housed a lot of young professionals & I came up with a story about two of them trying to make a connection. In the end, they find it’s just not there. I demo’d a version of the song and shared with the band, and we pulled it out when we started working on ‘The Price of Progress’. Really psyched with how it came out, it goes a lot of places.”

The Price of Progress comes out on March 31 via the Hold Steady’s own Positive Jams label.
