The Boyz closed off this year with not only a special two-day concert in South Korea, but also with the release of their special single, ‘All About You!’ And it’s the perfect gift to end the year and start a new chapter.
It’s crazy to think that The Boyz have been around for five years already. But that’s right, The Boyz debuted back on December 6th, 2017 with ‘Boy’ and their first mini-album, The First. And since 2019, The Boyz have made it a tradition to release a special single to celebrate their anniversary each year. TBZ revealed ‘All About You’ at their special concert – they showed the music video and performed the song live. And now that it’s out for all the world to hear, we seriously can’t stop looping this song.
Usually, The Boyz‘s special singles dropped at this time of the year are very Christmassy – pun not intended. ‘White’ and ‘Christmassy!’ were both happy and fun Christmas songs, while ‘Candles’ was a soft ballad. However, ‘All About You’ isn’t about Christmas. It’s about celebrating The Boyz‘s close bond with each other and with Deobis.
‘All About You’ is a soft song with a truly youthful feel to it. It has that coming-of-age vibe, and the music video contributes to that energy so much. We see the boys in different settings that make us think of college life. It’s a beautiful, light-hearted music video, with cute and fun moments that show the chemistry between the members and their friendship. And it has a simple yet stunning coming-of-age aesthetic.
This song feels nostalgic and comforting at the same time, and it has such great melodies. Seriously, the outro of ‘All About You’ was made in heaven – it’s just so good. While The Boyz are no strangers to sweet songs dedicated to their fans, ‘All About You’ feels different, refreshing and so special. It also makes it more personal to know that four members (Juyeon, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric) participated in the writing of the song. And talking about Eric: what makes ‘All About You’ even more special is that after an 8-month hiatus, Eric is finally back. This is The Boyz’s first song as eleven since February 2022. So yes, needless to say, ‘All About You’ is a huge deal for us.
We couldn’t think of a better song, a better gift, to finish 2022 and go into 2023 with nothing but love and support for The Boyz. Next year is already promising and we can’t wait to go into this new chapter with them!
