The Amazing Race is set to return for its 35th installment, and eagle-eyed fans have already spotted some of the filming locations.

The long-running CBS show, hosted by Phil Keoghan, 55, follows a number of teams sent on a trek around the world, with the hope of arriving at the final destination and winning the cash prize.

At every destination, each team competes in a series of challenges, and when the tasks have been completed, they learn where their next stop is.

The teams who are farthest behind are gradually eliminated as the contest progresses, and the first to arrive at the final destination wins at least $1 million.

Season 34 of The Amazing Race concludes on Wednesday, December 7, and although CBS is yet to officially announce the new season, the cast and crew have been spotted filming in various spots across the globe.

Newsweek has everything we know so far about the next season of The Amazing Race.

‘The Amazing Race 35’ Start Date

The casting for The Amazing Race 35 began in June 2022, and filming then started in mid-October.

Season 34 of the show began in September 2022, though this doesn’t necessarily mean the 35th installment will follow a year later, since there is not an obvious pattern when it comes to past seasons’ premiere dates.

Season 33 aired in January 2022 after originally starting filming in 2020, but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Season 32 started in October 2020, season 31 in April 2019, and season 30 in January 2018.

There will of course be a gap between filming of The Amazing Race 35 and its air date, so it’s at least safe to say fans will need to wait until 2023.

The 44th season of Survivor premieres on CBS on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, and, as, the two shows normally launch together, this could be a hint of when The Amazing Race will return.

Newsweek has contacted CBS for comment.
