Looking for a used car? Smart decision: Buying a gently used vehicle is almost always a better value than purchasing something brand new.

But you need to do your homework before deciding on a make and model. Some used cars are a better deal than others, as a recent analysis from iSeeCars clearly shows.

The website ranked 10-year-old vehicles based on their average price per 1,000 miles of expected remaining lifespan to determine the best used cars for your money.

The following are the best bets if you plan to shop for a vehicle soon.

10. Toyota Camry Hybrid

Price per 1,000 miles of remaining lifespan for a 10-year-old model: $123

The Toyota Camry Hybrid of this era is known for its fuel economy and attractive interior. However, it has a small trunk.

Price per 1,000 miles of remaining lifespan for a 10-year-old model: $120

The Dodge Grand Caravan can carry up to seven passengers. It has Dodge’s Stow ‘n Go feature, which allows you to minimize the second and third rows to create a flat load floor. Still, acceleration and handling are nothing special on this vehicle.

8. Ford Fusion

Price per 1,000 miles of remaining lifespan for a 10-year-old model: $119

This era’s Ford Fusion has a lot of room for luggage and gets good gas mileage. However, some have criticized the center controls for being too crowded.

Price per 1,000 miles of remaining lifespan for a 10-year-old model: $107

The Toyota Prius from this time period gets high safety ratings and has been praised for its comfortable ride. But you’ll hear a lot of road noise, and the interior materials fail to impress.

1. Chevrolet Impala
