KEMAH, Texas —A Texas police department’s cadet is going viral – not for a TikTok dance, but because of his height.
Video from FOX 26 Houston shows a Kemah Police Department cadet, identified as Jordan Wilmore, ducking through doorways inside the station and greeting officers who only reached his chest height. Photographs showed he was struggling to enter and exit the pickup truck cruisers.

“I’ve always had a desire and a goal to become a police officer,” Wilmore told FOX 26. “I honestly just like to serve the community and help out the ones that are in need, and need my help as well … I’ve always wanted to do this.”
A social media post by Kemah Police Chief Raymond Garivey Jr., which shows the 5’6’’ chief standing on a chair next to Wilmore, has garnered 43,000 reactions and thousands of comments on Facebook.
“My 7’03” tall cadet, Jordan, stopped by the station to try on some uniforms. We are going to have to add some material to make the shirts long enough,” the Facebook caption reads.
“I guess you better call Shaq … to get some police tactical shoes for the kid!” a Facebook user commented.
“A real-life version of the movie Police Academy’s Hightower..!” another commented.

The chief said he’s excited to get Wilmore out in the community.
“He said God gave him a gift, and when you can use that to be an ambassador, the positive energy that he’s going to bring to that uniform into the community, that’s what we’re excited about, making a difference,” Garivey Jr. told FOX 26.
