(FOX40.COM) — The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday that ten people were arrested for violating rules placed on them as registered sex offenders in connection with this year’s edition of the county fair.
The agency said that during the fair’s run, from July 5-14, the Special Victims Unit worked to keep offenders in compliance, including through the use of undercover officers at the event.
Over ten days, ten individuals were arrested, including six who were detained at the fairgrounds, the sheriff’s office said.
The agency said that one arrest was of a suspect who allegedly was attempting to meet a teenage girl at the fair “for illicit activities.”
The sheriff’s office shared several pictures of its team at the fair, including a picture of one of the suspects being detained.
