Three teenagers have been arrested and charged with 28 offenses, officials said, after they were, allegedly, involved with break-in burglaries of vehicles throughout Gloucester City, New Jersey, over the weekend.
On Sunday, police said three teens — an 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, both of Camden, and Wesley Hunter, a 19-year-old from Cherry Hill — were arrested and charged with burglary, criminal mischief and related offenses after they, allegedly, burglarized from several vehicles in the Highland Park section of the city in the overnight hours.
Officials said Hunter had active warrants and was turned over to the Camden County Metro Police Department for a previous offense and he has been remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility as he awaits a preliminary hearing.
The juveniles, officials said, were taken to the Camden County Juvenile Detention Youth Detention Center where they were give ankle monitors and released to their parents.
The teens’ parents, police said, were then charged with failure to supervise their children.
Police are still investigating this case and they ask residents of Highland Park, and nearby communities, to check their vehicles for signs of burglary.
Also, officials said, they recovered some stolen items from the teens involved in this case.
