A smoky attic fire at a Linda Vista townhouse complex left one resident displaced Monday, authorities reported.

An electrician working at the two-story complex in the 2200 block of Burroughs Street smelled smoke and made an emergency call shortly before 11:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

Firefighters determined that smoldering insulation was generating the smoke, SDFRD spokesperson Candace Hadley said. It took the crews about half an hour to fully extinguish the embers burning inside the affected section of insulation, she said.

    No reported injuries were reported.
