Mexico‘s president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, posted a tweet that many thought would be an April Fool’s Day joke, but it wasn’t. AMLO criticized the US government with a statement in which he even attacked the NBA, although he did not mention it by name.
AMLO’s tweet says: “They threaten to invade, sell high-powered weapons in their markets, do nothing for their young people, unfortunately suffer from the terrible and deadly pandemic of fentanyl, but do not address the causes. They are not concerned about well-being, only money, they do not strengthen moral, cultural and spiritual values; they do not even limit drug use, on the contrary, they encourage it even in sports. Another tweet followed in which he shared an article from the Mexican newspaper El Universal, which reported that the NBA will allow the use of marijuana in its players. The Mexican president wrote: “This is what I mean. It is contradictory and hypocritical.”
