  • Top 5 Casino Resorts NOT in Vegas You Must Visit • This Week in Gambling

    [ad_1]

If you can’t get to Las Vegas, you may be able to visit some amazing casino resorts closer to where you live! These popular destinations rival anything Sin City has to offer, and may cut down on travel stress and costs! Plus, while these amazing hotels and casinos are scattered all across the country, they rival even the very best you’ll find in the Nevada desert. In fact, some players may prefer a visit to a resort closer to home, cutting down on the stress and expense of travel. And hopefully one of these gems is not too far from where you are!

So, let’s begin our countdown at the number five spot with the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno, Nevada. Ranked the number one hotel in Reno by US News and World Report, and with numerous 4 Star Awards for their spa and steakhouse from Forbes, Atlantis has a 65,000 square foot casino floor with over 1,200 slot machines, 40 table games, a sports book, and a poker room. Plus, their hotel has over 800 guest rooms and suites.

At number four, we find the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, with a massive casino floor of 364,000 square feet, more than 6,500 slot machines, 370 table games, and a race book. Voted one of the best casino hotels in America by USA Today for 7 years in a row. Plus, their two hotel towers boast 1,600 deluxe rooms and suites.  Now, when we ranked these casino resorts , we searched travel blogs and message boards, poured over customer reviews, and even compared our list to other lists just to be thorough. But no matter how great a property is, they can’t all be in the top five. So, here are some resorts that just missed out on those top spots, but still deserve a visit and an honorable mention.

Beginning with the Agua Caliente in Palm Springs, California… with awards for their steakhouse and spa from Forbes Travel Guide. Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, which won the world luxury award for casino hotels in 2025. Ocean Casino Resort, the top ranked property in Atlantic City and one of Travel and Leisure’s 500 best hotels in the world! The Graton Resort near Santa Rosa, California has won multiple best of gaming prizes from Casino Player magazine. And Encore Boston Harbor, with multiple five-star ratings from Forbes Travel Guide. And it’s the largest five-star resort in America outside of Vegas!

And that brings us to the number three spot on our list. And you may be expecting to hear a name like Borgata, Pachena, or perhaps even Foxwoods. All amazing properties and well worth a visit. However, the next name on our list is WinStar World Casino located between Dallas, Texas and Oklahoma City with 400,000 square ft of gaming space, 10,500 slots, 100 table games, 55 poker tables, and a bingo hall that seats 800 people. They have a 1,500 room hotel, a golf course, and a 6,500 seat concert venue. Winstar has won awards for best casino hotel, best casino slots, and one of the best casino resorts outside of Vegas. Then there’s the Yaamava’ Resort & Casino in San Manuel, located in Highland, California, with a gaming floor of 290,000 square ft, holding 150 table games and 7,400 slot machines. This resort offers games for high stakes players and casual gamblers alike with betting limits as high as $25,000. Yaamava’ has a AAA five diamond rating, a four-star steakhouse, and a five-star spa.

Finally this week, we reached the number one spot on our list. And as I was crunching the numbers, one resort was consistently ranked high on everybody’s list. And it wasn’t even close. And that resort is the Beau Rivage Resort, in Biloxi Mississippi. Their 32story hotel has sweeping views of the Gulf, nearly 1,700 guest rooms, and 95 luxury suites. Their 85,000 square foot casino floor holds 75 table games and over,200 slots, including the region’s first buffalo zone. There’s even a poker room and high roller lounge. With AAA Four Diamond Award winning restaurant, Beau Rivage was voted top 15 best for dining and nightlight by Casino Player and one of the top casino resorts outside Las Vegas by USA Today readers!
