LAWRENCE — The empty parking garage stirred at 7:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve for The Movement Family’s weekly Wednesday night dinner.
By 7:45, TMF – homeless people and others who are struggling, along with those there to help them – filled the cavernous Buckley, a former bus station in downtown Lawrence.

LAWRENCE — Tow trucks were lit up, police stood by and a bagpiper played on Marston Street on Saturday night as the body of Frank Coady was escorted past his business and then to a funeral home.
Coady, 74, the owner of Coady’s Garage & Towing Service at 139 Marston St., died Saturday. He was nationally known for his towing service and abundantly charitable nature.

LAWRENCE — The Fire Department hosted its annual open house Saturday, drawing dozens of families to the station. Guests received the chance to see a training smoke house, a rescue demonstration involving a mock car crash, and a dunk tank, among other things. Members of the Exchange Club of Lawrence and the Andovers grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for the crowd.
