  • List: Triangle businesses & services closing, changing hours during winter storm

    [ad_1]

As the winter storm makes its way across central North Carolina, businesses and municipalities in the Triangle are adjusting their hours.

Sleet and freezing rain are expected to accumulate throughout the weekend, according to the National Weather Service, making travel dangerous and potentially causing power outages.

North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein declared a statewide state of emergency and is urging drivers to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

Melting will be aided by sunshine, but below-freezing temperatures are in the forecast for days after the precipitation ends, allowing for the potential for refreezing.

Here’s a list of businesses, local government programs and services, and events canceled because of the winter weather. For information about school closures, click here.
