  • FCC Chair Brendan Carr accused of presiding over censorship, told to resign in tense hearing exchange

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., reprimanded Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr during a Wednesday hearing, saying he should resign over what the senator called “mafia threats.”

Carr appeared before the Senate Commerce Committee to discuss his call in September for broadcasters to consider removing ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel from the air — a move critics said amounted to a veiled threat against ABC and Disney over comments Kimmel made about the alleged Charlie Kirk assassin.

Markey pressed Carr during the hearing, citing the chairman’s past social media posts about defending the First Amendment.

“That’s why your threats against ABC and Disney over Jimmy Kimmel’s political monologue were so outrageous,” Markey said.

“And here’s what you said in September of 2025 as the chairman of the FCC: ‘We can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to change conduct or take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.’ That statement was roundly condemned across the political spectrum. Chairman [Sen. Ted] Cruz called it ‘dangerous as hell.’ Chairman Carr, do you regret making that statement? Yes or no?”

Carr responded by saying that his job, first and foremost, is to enforce the law.

“So just to be clear: your position is that your mafia threats had nothing to do with Nexstar and Sinclair and Disney’s decisions to preempt and suspend Kimmel. Is that your position? That you had nothing to do with the suspension of Kimmel?” Markey asked.

When Carr noted that all the media companies involved — Nexstar, Sinclair and Disney — said they strictly made business decisions to temporarily suspend Kimmel’s show, Markey argued it was a distinction without a difference.

“Again, you’re refusing to take accountability for your own words,” Markey said. “You intimidate the companies — they do what you want — and then you say, ‘Well, it was up to them,’” You’re the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. Actually, you’re now the chairman of the Federal Censorship Commission.”

“And these broadcasters — they feel that censorship. You have broad authority over the media industry, especially broadcasters. Your words and actions matter,” the lawmaker added.

  • Trump allies reject CNN chyron in real time, say White House not ‘reeling’ from Susie Wiles interview

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

People close to President Donald Trump rejected a CNN chyron in real time on Tuesday, according to network host Dana Bash, who revealed that they were texting her during the show to let her know that they weren’t “reeling” over White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles’ interview with Vanity Fair.

CNN’s chyron during Bash’s show on Tuesday read, “White House reeling over Susie Wiles interview.”

“You probably saw me looking down while you were talking because I was getting texts from people inside Trump world who say, ‘No, they’re not reeling,’ as our chyron says,” Bash told CNN’s political director David Chalian during a segment on “Inside Politics.”

“So here we go. Susie Wiles is unfiltered, we’re going to be unfiltered too. And they say that that is not what’s happening. And that is an exaggeration of what’s going on inside. So that’s out there. And we’re going to be transparent about what they’re saying right now,” Bash said.

Chalian said the White House was “circling the wagons” in defense of Wiles.

“I have not met anybody who does not — in Trump world, and frankly, even some Democrats who deal with the White House — who does not adore Susie Wiles,” Bash later said. “They just think she’s a straight shooter, and she’s solid and that she is, you know, the person who needs to be there right now for this president at this time.”

Vanity Fair published a two-part interview with Wiles, which included some candid remarks about Trump, Vice President JD Vance and other top admininistration officials.

Trump “has an alcoholic’s personality” and “operates [with] a view that there’s nothing he can’t do. Nothing, zero, nothing,” Wiles told the magazine.

“Some clinical psychologist that knows one million times more than I do will dispute what I’m going to say. But high-functioning alcoholics or alcoholics in general, their personalities are exaggerated when they drink. And so I’m a little bit of an expert in big personalities,” she told Vanity Fair.

Vanity Fair also reported that Wiles said Vice President JD Vance had been “a conspiracy theorist for a decade” and that Vance’s support for Trump — after previously criticizing him — was “sort of political.”

The chief of staff said the piece was “disingenuously framed” in a statement posted to X.

  • Syracuse student calls Thanksgiving ‘celebration of genocide’ in campus newspaper column

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A Syracuse University student wrote in The Daily Orange, the university’s campus newspaper, that Thanksgiving is a “celebration of genocide.”

“Thanksgiving is, in essence, a celebration of genocide. The mass rationalization of this fact sustains the contemporary structures that inform American culture itself. Without genocide, the foundation of our traditional American identity falls apart,” Mateo Lopez-Castro wrote in a column last week.

Citing the John Sullivan campaign, he said the country at the outset of the American Revolution opted for “mass erasure” instead of peace and diplomacy toward Indigenous peoples in the country, “creating adequate conditions for the expansion of settler colonialism” and its development as an “independent entity,” Lopez-Castro wrote.

‘SQUAD’ MEMBER MOURNS ‘EMPTY’ THANKSGIVING SEATS DUE TO ‘LOVED ONES ABDUCTED & DEPORTED,’ ‘MASS INCARCERATION’

Lopez-Castro noted slavery and “white supremacy” as being celebrated throughout literature and film, including the film “Gone With the Wind,” although the U.S. “used the enslavement of African people as the primary tool in their respective genocide.”

U.S. society rationalizes genocide, Lopez-Castro claims, and the collective denial of genocide’s effects allows it to survive.

“Our entire society was built on genocide and continues to be,” Lopez-Castro wrote.

SHIFTING THANKSGIVING TRADITIONS REFLECT BROADER POLITICAL, ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL DIVIDES

“We have internalized, accepted and standardized it throughout our efforts of cancerous growth. Recent American media, like the 2018 show ‘Yellowstone’ and the 2018 film ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,’ have hesitated from or ignored the accuracy necessary to properly contextualize the role of Indigenous people in their stories,” the student added.

Lopez-Castro, a senior studying sociology, television, radio and film, pivoted to the Trump administration’s handling of the dissemination of information about the conflict in Gaza.

Donald Trump’s administration has taken great efforts to silence the truths about the genocide against the Palestinians. It seeks to weaponize our struggles so that we may turn on one another, mold false narratives in the media and whitewash our true history and current reality. It pedestals genocidal campaigns and looks to hand out awards for its accomplices,” Lopez-Castro wrote.

UNIVERSITIES, SCHOOL DISTRICTS NATIONWIDE CALL FOR ‘DECOLONIZING’ THANKSGIVING: ‘DAY OF MOURNING’

Lopez-Castro urged that Americans educate themselves in order to challenge their pre-established understandings of American society and “transform our culture.”

Universities and colleges across the country marked Thanksgiving with alternative events protesting the national holiday, according to reports from college news websites. Diversity offices at several colleges held events this month on “decolonizing” Thanksgiving and acknowledging the “National Day of Mourning,” which falls on Thanksgiving Day.

Lopez-Castro did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital‘s request for comment.

  • Cook County in Illinois establishes permanent guaranteed income program

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The second-largest county in the United States has established a permanent guaranteed basic income program after the success of a previous pilot version.

The Cook County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved $7.5 million for a permanent guaranteed basic income program last week. Chicago, the largest city in the Midwest and third-largest in the country, is the county seat for Cook County.

Cook County made headlines as it established the guaranteed basic income program after many local governments across the country launched pilot versions.

CHICAGO HOMEOWNERS DEMAND ANSWERS AS PROPERTY TAX BILLS RISE: ‘DIVESTMENT IN THIS COMMUNITY’

Guaranteed basic income programs have become a trend across the U.S. in recent years with more than 100 pilots launched since 2018. Mayors for Guaranteed Income grew into a coalition of 150 mayors pushing pilot programs, offering low-income participants up to $1,000 a month with no strings attached. The group has pushed pilot programs that have been adopted by municipalities across the country

The Cook County program was launched in 2022 with the aid of federal COVID-19 relief funds.

Once the largest publicly funded program in the nation receiving $42 million in federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, the Cook County Promise Guaranteed Income Pilot provided monthly payments of $500 to 3,250 households for two years, with no strings attached.

Economic Security Illinois Director Sarah Saheb described Cook County’s guaranteed basic income pilot as a “historic success” and said that when the federal government was “stepping back from its responsibilities to working families, Cook County is leading the way to ensure people can afford basic necessities.”

The commissioners told Fox News Digital that the decision to extend the program into permanence was based on findings from a survey on the county’s pilot program.

The findings released by the commission in April showed that three-quarters of participants reported feeling more financially secure and 94% of participants used the funds to address financial emergencies during challenging times. Majorities also reported the program improved their mental health and lowered their stress levels.

The commission learned from the survey that participants mainly used the funds for essential needs such as food, rent, utilities, and transportation.

Illinois Policy Institute (IPI), a think tank that tracks public policy decisions in the state, told Fox News Digital that “Cook County is making its guaranteed income pilot permanent and committing millions to a failed strategy already shown to leave people with less work experience and lower earnings.”

POLICE SAY THEY’RE ‘TIRED’ OF DEM CITIES SPENDING BILLIONS ON ILLEGAL ALIENS OVER COPS: LAW ENFORCEMENT GROUP

“That should alarm anyone who wants real, long-term progress for low-income residents. A recent pilot program in northern Illinois, including Cook County, decreased workforce participation and lower individual income (before transfers),” said Josh Bandoch, head of policy for the IPI.

In response to IPI, the commission told Fox News Digital that “outcomes and impacts vary depending heavily on program design: amount of cash, frequency/duration of payments, eligibility criteria (income-based, place-based, etc.), and local cost of living.”

“Cook County is partnering closely with the Inclusive Economy Lab at the University of Chicago to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the Promise Pilot. We will then design our next program in a thoughtful way that considers short- and long-term outcomes,” the commission said.

  • White House blasts MS NOW correspondent’s ‘beyond sick’ reaction to DC shooting of National Guardsmen

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The White House is taking aim at MS NOW correspondent Ken Dilanian over his initial reaction to Wednesday’s shooting of National Guard troops in Washington D.C.

Dilanian appeared during the network’s breaking news coverage and was asked about the environment in D.C. since President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard earlier this year. He responded by noting how the National Guard’s presence has been normalized, and it was no longer seen as controversial after D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser embraced the deployment.

He then pivoted to the political climate around the country.

“Of course, you know, there’s so much controversy happening in the United States right now with ICE, who are also wearing uniforms and wearing masks,” Dilanian told MS NOW’s Katy Tur. “And so there’s — you don’t know — people walking around with uniforms in an American city. There are some Americans that might object to that. And so apparently this shooting has happened.”

Tur and Dilanian also questioned the legality of the National Guard deployment in D.C., citing a federal judge’s ruling that it was unlawful, which the Trump administration is appealing.

The White House’s rapid response team slammed Dilanian’s comments on social media

“@KDilanianMSNOW, two heroes were just shot protecting our nation’s capital — and this is your takeaway?” the White House wrote on X.

“Democrats have relentlessly demonized these Patriots, calling them ‘illegal’ and even suggesting THEY might start shooting Americans. Get help. You are beyond sick,” the White House added.

  • Paramount revives ‘Rush Hour’ franchise reportedly after Trump’s request

Paramount Pictures is distributing “Rush Hour 4” after a report suggested President Donald Trump personally lobbied the company for another sequel.

Deadline confirmed Tuesday that Paramount Pictures will distribute the fourth installment of the buddy-cop action series starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker on behalf of Warner Bros. Discovery. Chan and Tucker are expected to return, along with franchise director Brett Ratner.

The news followed a Semafor report Sunday that Trump had been speaking with Paramount owner David Ellison, son of longtime donor Larry Ellison, about possibly reviving the franchise.

“Trump appears to want to revive the raucous comedies and action movies of the late 1980s to late 1990s,” the report read. “He’s passionate, for instance, about the 1988 Jean-Claude Van Damme sports flick ‘Bloodsport.’ A person directly familiar with the conversations told Semafor that the president of the United States has personally pressed the Paramount owner to revive another franchise from Ratner: ‘Rush Hour,’ a buddy-cop comedy starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker that blended physical comedy, martial arts and gags about racial stereotypes.”

Arthur M. Sarkissian, who produced all three “Rush Hour” films, also produced the 2024 documentary “The Man You Don’t Know” through his company, Global Ascension Studios. The documentary, released before the 2024 presidential election, sought to offer “fresh perspectives” on Trump through interviews with friends and family.

Franchise stars Chan and Tucker have been comparatively supportive of Trump in the past, especially when compared with outspoken liberal figures in Hollywood.

  • BBC faces more headaches as its DC news editor exits due to ‘management style’ complaints

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The BBC is facing more headaches — this time involving one of its top chiefs located across the pond.

Deadline reported Monday that Adam Levy, a Washington DC-based executive producer and news editor, abruptly left the BBC after complaints were made about his “management style.”

Sources told Deadline that a recent incident was the “final straw” for Levy, who reportedly spoke to a young producer in an “aggressive” manner following a mistake that was made.

WHAT’S BEHIND TRUMP’S HEADED FEUD WITH THE BBC THAT RESULTED IN $5 BILLION LAWSUIT THREAT?

A security guard walks outside the BBC headquarters in central London, Britain, March 11, 2023 (Reuters/Henry Nicholls)

Levy joined the BBC in March 2023 following a 15-year stint at CNN.

His former colleagues at CNN describe Levy as being a “good producer” and “harmless,” but that he was also “very by the book.” One ex-colleague told Fox News Digital that while it “wasn’t the most pleasant” to work with Levy, “It wasn’t anything that was awful,” either.

A spokesperson for the BBC declined to comment on individual HR matters. Levy did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

EX-BBC DIRECTOR GENERAL TELLS NETWORK THEY SHOULDN’T AGREE TO PAY TRUMP ANY MONEY

The BBC also provided an update to its review of its Editorial Guidelines and Standards Committee (EGSC), which is responsible for “overseeing the corporation’s editorial standards and guidelines” and reports to the BBC board.

A review of the EGSC began in June, before the broadcaster was under fire for a documentary that included a misleading edit of President Donald Trump‘s Jan. 6 comments.

In a press release Monday, the BBC said it will assess whether changes made to the EGSC have made a positive impact and make sure there is “appropriate action” when its coverage “falls short of our editorial standards.”

The Guardian reported Friday that a member of the BBC’s board resigned after he was allegedly “cut out” of discussions that led to the abrupt resignations of BBC News CEO Deborah Turness and BBC Director-General Tim Davie.

Trump said he plans to file a multibillion-dollar lawsuit against the BBC. The controversy began with a bombshell report from The Telegraph that featured excerpts from a whistleblower dossier compiled by Michael Prescott, a communications advisor hired by the BBC to review its editorial standards.

The whistleblower alleged that a BBC “Panorama” documentary released last year included a misleading edit of comments Trump made during his Jan. 6, 2021, rally protesting the 2020 presidential election results.

EX-BBC CEO DEBORAH TURNESS OVERSAW A STRING OF MEDIA CONTROVERSIES

The documentary, “Trump: A Second Chance?,” omitted Trump urging his supporters to protest “peacefully” and instead spliced two separate comments made nearly an hour apart, creating the impression that he was calling for violence.

“We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol. And I’ll be there with you. And we fight — we fight like hell,” the documentary showed Trump saying.

In reality, Trump said, “We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol. And we’re gonna cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women, and we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.” It wasn’t until 54 minutes later that Trump called on his supporters to “fight like hell” for election integrity.

  • Rhode Island teacher who called Charlie Kirk ‘piece of garbage’ set to return to classroom after suspension

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A Rhode Island high school will reinstate a teacher who was put on administrative leave after he called assassinated Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk a “piece of garbage.”

In an email sent Friday and obtained by Fox News Digital, Interim Superintendent Bob Mitchell of Barrington Public Schools said social studies teacher Benjamin Fillo would return to teach despite violating the district’s social media policy.

“The high school teacher at the center of the recent district independent investigation will be returning to the classroom on December 1,” the email from Mitchell read. “The investigator’s now public report confirms that the teacher violated district social media policy, resulting in substantial disruption to our district. This is a personnel matter, and while we cannot share details of internal actions, the district is moving forward and maintaining strong expectations for staff conduct.”

Shortly after Kirk’s assassination on Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University during his American Comeback Tour, Fillo posted a video claiming Kirk “hated the LGBTQ community” and “hated women’s rights.”

Fillo was placed on administrative leave after the post, in which he also said Kirk “thought he proved how tough he was with his words … What a piece of garbage. Look what happens … Bye, Charlie!”

Mitchell acknowledged the controversy in his email: “It’s no secret that over the last two months, our district has been thrust into national conversations, and students and our school community members have been exposed to online hostility and certainly a more challenging and distracting education environment in the wake of this issue. We want students, families, and staff to feel safe and supported as we transition back to routine school operations that continue the outstanding work of our district.”

He said the school will increase security measures and has been working with Barrington Police, Rhode Island State Police, the FBI Providence Field Office and other local agencies to coordinate a response to the reinstatement.

Mitchell also said that “Students who have concerns or need space to process recent events will have access to school counselors, social workers, and trained staff members. Further, our district professionals have developed additional mental health resources available to our high school students.”

Heather Ryan, a parent of a ninth grader at Barrington High School, told Fox News Digital she is “dismayed” by the decision.

“It is a true tragedy to see a teacher permitted to violate multiple school district policies and stroll back to work after a paid vacation,” Ryan said. “Celebrating political assassinations is psychotic and deserving of no accolades. My family and I are deeply disturbed but understand that left-wing unions and organizations are threatening personal attacks on our district administration and elected officials.”

District spokesperson Sarah Dell told Fox News Digital: “The independent investigation has concluded, and the teacher will be returning to the classroom. Because this is a personnel matter, we cannot discuss additional details.”

Dell added, “We are working closely with the Barrington Police Department, which is coordinating with local, state, and federal partners to ensure the safety of our school community. Given the widespread attention on this issue, all inbound communication is being carefully monitored and any concerns are being flagged and addressed immediately in coordination with police. Safety remains our top priority.”

She also said the school is aware “that some families may wish to speak with their school administrators about their student’s needs, and the school will work with them to ensure appropriate support, including class placements. Counseling and mental health supports are available for any student who may need space to talk or process recent events.”

“We recognize that members of our community may hold differing and strongly felt views, and we remain committed to supporting every Barrington student and family. Our focus is on safety, stability, and helping the district move forward,” Dell added.

A statement from the Barrington School Committee read in part that the investigation into Fillo “was conducted by an experienced third-party attorney with deep expertise in First Amendment law, public school policy, and employee conduct. The investigator’s report concludes that the teacher violated the District’s social media policy, resulting in substantial disruption to the district.”

The Barrington School Committee said in a statement that it was concerned about backlash from teachers’ unions, adding that “National organizations, including large labor and advocacy groups, have made this case a national flashpoint. The National Education Association has indicated its intent to pursue aggressive litigation against the District — and against individual administrators and School Committee members personally — if the district took actions they deemed not satisfactory.”

“The financial implications of those lawsuits would reach into several hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars, while risking the important search and retention of permanent administrative leadership in our district at a time when stability is essential. We are not willing to subject Barrington to that level of financial and operational risk,” it continued.

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A conservative pro-life influencer who went viral after being punched in the face during a street interview in New York City has filed a lawsuit against her alleged attacker.

Savannah Craven Antao, pro-life activist and host of the YouTube channel “Her Patriot Voice,” says she was conducting man-on-the-street interviews for the organization Live Action on April 3 when she was repeatedly struck by Brianna J. Rivers, 30, of the Bronx.

According to the complaint, filed Nov. 18 in Bronx Supreme Court, Craven Antao went to the emergency room for stitches after the attack, incurring more than $3,000 in medical bills. Her attorneys at the Thomas More Society allege that Rivers has “knowingly, willfully and maliciously continued to mock [Savannah] and her views online in order to further inflict emotional distress.”

The lawsuit also claims Rivers mocked Craven Antao’s religious beliefs and marketed merchandise referencing the assault. One alleged post showed a T-shirt design with the word “BAM!” and an image of a fist striking a face — which the complaint says Rivers and her cousin created to raise money for her legal defense.

Craven Antao’s attorneys say the influencer has suffered symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder and has received hundreds of death threats since the incident. The suit seeks compensatory and punitive damages for assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Rivers was initially charged with second-degree assault, but the case was dismissed in July after Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office failed to turn over discovery on time. The lawsuit criticizes Bragg’s office for downgrading the charge to a misdemeanor and later allowing it to lapse.

Craven Antao also slammed Bragg’s handling of her case in an interview with Fox News Digital this week.

“I have to look over my shoulder and worry about if somebody who supports her actions — there are a lot of people out there that do — that they’re going to try to do something else,” she said. “Because what the D.A. Alvin Bragg himself has shown to people, with letting this case be dropped, is that they can go assault somebody and hurt them if they disagree with them and nothing is going to happen.”

In September, Bragg’s office issued a statement acknowledging a filing error and apologizing to Craven Antao.

“Every victim deserves their day in court, and our office has reached out to apologize to Ms. Craven Antao for the unacceptable error of missing the discovery deadline,” a spokesperson said. “We are taking immediate internal steps in light of this case.”

Craven Antao said she decided to file the lawsuit to hold Rivers accountable and send a message.

“First, I’d really appreciate my over $3,000 in medical bills to be paid off, because I should not be responsible for those,” she said. “Second, it’s to send a message — hopefully to show her that she can’t do this again.”

“Honestly, I hope that she eventually finds God,” she continued. “That’s what I pray for, because it’s obvious that she’s got a lot of deep trauma rooted, and she takes it out on other people.”

Thomas More Society attorney Christopher Ferrara said Bragg’s handling of the case forced them to take civil action against Rivers.

“Savannah was violently assaulted for peacefully expressing her pro-life beliefs and then humiliated all over again when the attacker went online to glorify it,” he said in a statement. “The D.A.’s office had every opportunity to pursue justice and due to their incompetency or lack of will, failed to prosecute this vicious assault. Their refusal left us with no choice but to file civil action to hold Rivers accountable.”

Craven Antao also linked her fears to broader safety concerns for conservative figures, citing the recent killing of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

“If they could do it to somebody like him, who has the resources to have the security and the checks and all the people surrounding him, what does this say for just average journalists … who don’t have the means to hire a whole security team and be armed?” she said.

“With all the threats online and the comments she ‘likes,’ encouraging her behavior, it makes me wonder if the wrong person is going to find me next time and something worse will happen,” she continued.

Rivers previously apologized in an April 5 Facebook post, saying she was sorry “but cannot sit around and allow you to continue pushing this one-sided narrative.”

“I understand hands being put on someone is never the answer, but throwing rocks and hiding hands is worse. Savannah is a professional antagonist, not a ‘reporter,’ and the truth will be told,” she added.

  • Eric Adams warns NYC ‘not fine’ after Mamdani’s win, says if he was Jewish he’d be worried for his children

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Outgoing New York City Mayor Eric Adams warned Jewish New Yorkers about the city’s incoming democratic socialist mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani during a fireside chat at a Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) event in Tel Aviv on Sunday.

Adams cautioned that “everything is not fine” for Jewish New Yorkers following Mamdani’s win and expressed concern about their safety and well-being.

The outgoing mayor began a multi-day visit to Israel on Friday, meeting with political leaders and visiting sites related to the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas terror attack. Adams was honored for his efforts in combating rising antisemitism at the CAM summit in Tel Aviv on Sunday.

When asked about the safety of Jews living in the city after Mamdani takes office in 2026, Adams responded: “We need to be honest about the moment and cannot sugarcoat it. The New York Jewish community must prepare themselves. This is a period where you need to be conscious about the level of global hostility towards the Jewish community. If I were a Jewish New Yorker, I would be concerned about my children.”

Pressed again, Adams repeated his warning, telling the audience: “Everything is not fine. If you say everything is fine, you are setting yourself up for failure.”

Adams, who ran for a second term in 2025 as an independent under the “End Antisemitism” line, discussed the sharp rise of antisemitism and its growing social acceptance — particularly among younger people.

The outgoing mayor warned that “It is now cool and hip to be antisemitic,” and that an entire generation has been “hijacked” via social media.

“They hijacked our young people. Their plan was well executed. Now we need a professional plan to fight back,” he asserted.

On the Israeli side, Adams argued that supporters had not effectively countered the anti-Israel camp’s emotional appeals, which relied on images from war-torn Gaza. He added that “the Zohrans of the world” had helped fuel rising anger toward Israel.

Adams also called out “Queers for Palestine” protesters, arguing that the group’s premise makes no sense because “the only place you can walk around in the Middle East being queer is Israel.”

ADL CHIEF WARNS NYC MAYOR-ELECT ZOHRAN MAMDANI POSES A ‘CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER’ TO JEWISH COMMUNITY

He similarly went after the “Free Palestine” movement, alleging that the movement “was never about the land,” but rather the “the destruction and eradication of Jewish people.”

Drawing a parallel to his own community, Adams asked: “If this were happening to the African-American community, you would not be silent. So why are others silent now?”

Closing his remarks at the CAM event, Adams assured the audience that although he may be leaving office, he would not stop fighting for the Jewish community.

“I’m not just the mayor that’s leaving office; I’m your brother. And we will continue to stand side-by-side with you because you were there for our community time and time again, and I’m going to be here for your community,” he pledged.

Joe Rogan’s podcast has climbed to the top of another major streaming platform this year, The Hollywood Reporter reported Tuesday.

“The Joe Rogan Experience” clinched the No. 1 podcast spot in the U.S. on Apple Podcasts for 2025, driven by the sheer size of Rogan’s audience this year.

Rogan’s interviews with high-profile guests — including billionaire Elon Musk in February — helped propel his show from third place in 2024 to Apple’s top spot this year.

Crime series “Crime Junkie” fell from second place in 2024 to fourth in 2025, as “The Mel Robbins Podcast” rose to No. 2 this year.

Rogan’s episode with Musk was the fourth-most-watched episode on Apple Podcasts in 2025, edging out President Donald Trump’s interview on “The Daily,” which placed fifth.

  • Democratic lawmaker doubles down on fellow Dem, accusing them of ‘election subversion’

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, D-Wash., called out her fellow Democrats on Monday for “subverting democracy” with cynical political moves, warning one does not save democracy by bypassing it.

Gluesenkamp Perez caused political shockwaves on Wednesday by demanding a vote to condemn Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García, D-Ill., for unexpectedly ending his re-election bid, which effectively cleared the way for his chief of staff to run in his place.

CNN host Jake Tapper recalled Gluesenkamp Perez’s accusation that Garcia’s move was “undermining the process of a free and fair election,” noting that it is rare for a Democrat to turn against a party ally in such a way.

Gluesenkamp Perez said that she felt the need to speak up.

“Because I believe election subversion is wrong no matter who’s doing it,” she said. “And I think that right now we’re seeing a profound, very loud call from Americans for transparency and accountability. And it’s part and parcel of that, that you don’t just turn a blind eye to wrongdoing or unethical behavior when it’s, you know, politically convenient, that you do it consistently.”

The moderate Democrat noted that not only was she dismayed at Garcia’s allegedly tactical political move, but that her fellow Democrats applauded it.

“One of the disturbing things is that like, immediately after the news broke about how Chuy had basically chosen his successor, I saw a lot of members congratulating him on how clever and slick it was,” she said. “And I think that galvanized me more to say that this is not something to be proud of, or to emulate or copy.”

She warned that democracy cannot be saved by circumventing it.

“What use is it to win an election at all costs, even your own integrity, if you are in that process, destroying Americans’ confidence in government? That’s the thing. Like, it’s not a prize that’s worth winning. If you destroy the thing in the process.”

“Without question, what Congressman Garcia did stinks,” Tapper agreed. “And the voters got screwed without, you know, taking a position on what kind of a politician he is, or his successor, will be. You are right on the facts.”

He went on to ask whether the events of the previous election, such as the Democratic Party protecting Biden from primary challengers and then appointing Harris as his successor without a vote, influenced her decision.

“Yeah. I think there’s one school of thought that’s pretty strong in D.C. That it’s like, ‘The threat to democracy is so real that we have to make choices for people, that Americans aren‘t smart enough to choose their own representatives.’ I think that that lack of confidence in voters it is toxic, and it’s not true,” she said.

Gluesenkamp Perez, who identifies as Latina herself, was also asked about a recent accusation that she targeted Garcia because he is Latino and progressive.

“Identity politics do not justify election subversion,” she said. “Nothing justifies that. If you say that it’s wrong, you have to say that it’s wrong consistently. No matter who’s doing it. This cannot be like a interparty fight. Like that’s not what this is about. You know, it is about confidence of whether we are going to choose to respect voters, whether we’re going to operate with morality.”

When asked about her initial call to condemn Garcia from the House floor last week, a García spokesperson said the congressman followed all proper election guidelines when making “a deeply personal decision based on his health, his wife’s worsening condition and his responsibility to the grandchildren he is raising after the death of his daughter.”

“At a moment like this, he hopes his colleagues, especially those who speak about family values, can show the same compassion and respect that any family would want during a health crisis,” the spokesperson said.

His team did not immediately respond to a follow-up request for comment on Gluesenkamp Perez’s latest remarks.

  • Legal analyst predicts Trump could win ‘considerable’ damages from BBC documentary lawsuit

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett predicted President Trump could be entitled to “considerable” damages from BBC should he move forward with a lawsuit against the outlet over an allegedly misleading edit of his Jan. 6 speech featured in a 2024 documentary.

“It’s hard to put a value on it at this early juncture, but it’s considerable,” Jarrett said Monday on “Fox & Friends.”

“Two top executives resigned in disgrace when they removed the slander,” he continued, referencing the resignations of BBC News CEO Deborah Turness and BBC director-general Tim Davie.

“And yet the BBC still claims it wasn’t defamatory, which is absurd. They knew it was wrong.”

The outlet drew heavy backlash for a documentary examining Trump’s Jan. 6, 2021, remarks before the assault on the U.S. Capitol.

“[It’s] a clear case of what I think is defamation,” Jarrett added.

“They deleted his caution to act peacefully, and then they spliced together the video to give the opposite impression, almost certainly defamatory.”

Critics like Jarrett claim the documentary was misleading because it omitted Trump urging supporters to protest “peacefully,” and stitched together remarks the president made nearly an hour apart to make it appear like one long statement.

Trump has threatened an up to $5 billion lawsuit over the ordeal.

In a previous statement to Fox News Digital, a spokesman for the president’s legal team accused the network of editing the documentary – which aired a week before the 2024 United States presidential election – “in order to try and interfere in” the outcome.

A BBC spokesperson said last Thursday that lawyers for the outlet had written to Trump’s legal team in response to a letter they had previously received, adding that BBC chair Samir Shah “separately sent a personal letter to the White House making clear to President Trump that he and the corporation are sorry for the edit of the president’s speech…”

The spokesperson said it has “no plans” to rebroadcast the documentary at the center of the controversy on any of BBC’s platforms, but added that, “While the BBC sincerely regrets the manner in which the video clip was edited, we strongly disagree there is a basis for a defamation claim.”

According to Sky News, Shah pledged to combat Trump’s legal threats, writing in an email to staff, “There is a lot being written, said and speculated upon about the possibility of legal action, including potential costs or settlements.

“In all this we are, of course, acutely aware of the privilege of our funding and the need to protect our license fee payers, the British public. I want to be very clear with you – our position has not changed. There is no basis for a defamation case and we are determined to fight this.”

Turness — one of the company’s executives who resigned after the fact — also defended BBC against criticism, stressing that the outlet is “not institutionally biased” and that its journalists are “not corrupt.”

“There is no institutional bias. Mistakes are made,” she said.

ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl said in a new interview that a recent incident is a perfect sign that former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden are on the outs.

Karl spoke to news personality and podcaster Katie Couric on her show last week about how Obama and Biden were spotted eating at Café Milano one night last month in Washington, D.C., to the point their security details had to make space for each other, yet Obama and his former vice president did not cross paths.

“They didn’t interact at all, they were in the same restaurant?” Couric asked in disbelief. “What’s their relationship like?”

“Really bad. Really bad,” Karl replied on the Nov. 6 podcast. “Biden and the people around him very much blame Barack Obama for the effort to push Biden out of the campaign.”

Karl has been doing media rounds to promote his new book, “Retribution,” a behind-the-scenes account of the historic 2024 election.

Karl went on to recall Hunter Biden was enraged at seeing Obama take his father by the arm and lead him off-stage at a fundraiser last summer, making then-President Biden appear feeble. At the time, Biden was still the presumptive 2024 Democratic nominee, and his allies were largely publicly dismissing concerns about his viability.

“It’s not a good relationship. If they had wanted to see each other, they absolutely would have,” Karl said of the night he witnessed at the restaurant. The incident was covered in Politico last month.

Karl noted further that Biden, like Kamala Harris, made several phone calls in order to secure support for Harris after Biden relinquished the nomination last year.

“I was astounded to hear that the one person he did not call was Barack Obama, the person that really made it possible for him to be president by making him vice president,” Karl said. “He didn’t call him then. Obama did call, I learned, to talk to Biden. He didn’t take the call, and the two of them did not speak for weeks.”

    “So dysfunctional,” Couric said.

Fox News Digital reached out to Biden and Obama’s offices and did not receive an immediate reply.

  • Chris Matthews blames Democratic Party ‘snobbery and attitude’ for losing working class voters to Trump

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Former MSNBC host Chris Matthews pointed to the Democrats’ “snobbery and attitude” as a reason why working people voted for President Donald Trump during an interview Wednesday.

MSNBC host Katy Tur asked Matthews about how the Democratic Party should bridge the divide between the working class and the college-educated voters.

“I don’t know the whole answer. [Pennsylvania Gov.] Josh Shapiro said, ‘All right, we’re going to stop this a little bit. We’re going to get rid of the law that you have to be some college graduate to get a job in the state government.’ Pennsylvania doesn’t have that law anymore,” Matthews said.

“It isn’t just for college grads. And I think there’s a lot to that. The town vs. gown has gotten to be political. The people that didn’t get to college are voting for Trump. Why? Because the snobbery and attitude,” he said.

CHRIS MATTHEWS SAYS DEMOCRATS ‘FALLING INTO A TRAP OF DEFENDING WHAT’S INDEFENSIBLE’ ON CRIME

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro issued an executive order in 2023 after taking office to establish that 92% of state government jobs would no longer require a college degree, according to CBS News

Matthews has been critical of the Democratic Party amid President Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory, calling on lawmakers to focus on the economy.

While discussing the Democratic Party’s low popularity on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” in August, Matthews pointed in part to the Biden administration’s poor handling of illegal immigration as a reason, saying, “The polling will tell you, the open border — what seemed like an open border for four years.

“Today, the border has been closed since January and not a peep out of any Hispanic leader. Nobody has complained because they know that surge at the border was killing the Democrats,” he said.

Identifying another possible factor in Democrats’ sinking approval, Matthews back in August cited how transgender policies impacted the 2024 presidential election.

“On the issue of trans people playing women’s sports, that ad ran in every sports event, starting with the World Series. It never stopped. It showed up around the third quarter, and everybody’s like, ‘What’s that? That’s insane.’”

Democrats won elections in New Jersey, New York, and Virginia that largely focused on economic anxiety and affordability issues.

New Jersey Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill defeated Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli in the New Jersey governor’s race, while former Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger defeated Republican challenger Winsome Earle-Sears in the Virginia gubernatorial race. In the Empire State, democratic socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani claimed victory over former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who ran as an Independent, and Republican Curtis Sliwa.

Matthews previously hosted “Hardball” on MSNBC and resigned from the network in 2020 after facing backlash over multiple controversies.

  • William & Mary sophomore helps launch Turning Point chapter after being ‘closeted conservative’ on campus

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Students at the College of William & Mary, the second-oldest university in the United States, are launching a Turning Point USA chapter despite social media backlash and pushback from peers.

Olivia Keller, a sophomore at William and Mary, told Fox News Digital in an interview Wednesday that the school administration has been supportive, but her peers haven’t been.

Most of the resistance has been on social media app YikYak, because she thinks students are more comfortable attacking the club behind a screen rather than face-to-face.

“There has been a lot of discussion on that platform among students,” Keller said. “So they’ve been pretty opposed to our efforts with this new club. They’ve made comments about the exec members on the club, they’ve made fun of it when Charlie Kirk was assassinated. They were saying, ‘Oh, we haven’t heard a racist comment in a while that’s awesome.’ So it’s just some really, really inappropriate stuff on there. But in person I haven’t really had any kind of interaction that was as bad as online, as I mean it’s face-to-face versus online, so like they’re definitely more scared to say something in person.”

The 20-year-old student told Fox News Digital that she reached out to campus security after learning that other students planned to protest the group’s Oct. 20 informational meeting.

“When that was brought to my attention, I had never dealt with a protest before. I wasn’t sure how big it was going to be, how many people would actually show up, or how disruptive they would be,” Keller said. “So I did feel the need to get security outside of our meeting. And the faculty and staff were really easy to communicate with to get those security guards outside.”

Keller, who is a marketing major, said she has noticed a drastic decrease in her friends following her on social media platforms like Instagram after posting about Kirk’s assassination.

The 31-year-old co-founder of Turning Point USA was assassinated on Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University during his “American Comeback Tour.”

Keller claimed that about 200 friends on Instagram unfollowed her after she posted a “rest in peace” tribute to Kirk after his assassination, and that more unfollowed her Monday when she shared a post for Veterans Day.

Keller said she thinks conservative students tend to face a tougher environment on campus as opposed to their liberal peers.

“Even the College Republicans, they face a lot of backlash, and they’re pretty loud about their beliefs,” Keller said. “When Trump was elected the previous year, they were wearing the MAGA hats and stuff, and so they were commented on a lot, like there were a lot of disagreements.”

Keller said she had been a “closeted conservative” but decided to speak up despite the risks.

“Me personally, I’ve been more of what I would say, a closeted conservative on campus until this year, just because I feel like if I were to speak up, I would just be, attacked or, like, basically condemned,” Keller said.

Her advice to students finding themselves in a similar position who want to start a conservative club in a left-leaning institution is to be “bold.”

“In today’s world, I think it’s really important to be bold about these beliefs,” Keller said. “And even if your peers disagree with you, in the long run, you’re gonna find your own community with people who have similar values and those are gonna be the more important relationships.”

  • Charlamagne tells Van Jones to ‘shut the F up forever’ after calling Mamdani’s victory speech divisive

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Radio host Charlamagne tha God told CNN host Van Jones to shut up Wednesday after he criticized New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s fiery victory speech.

Jones accused Mamdani of a “character switch” during an impassioned election-night address on Tuesday, arguing that he had missed an opportunity to bring more New Yorkers into his camp after a contentious election.

“I think he missed a chance tonight to open up and bring more people into the tent,” Jones told the election night panel on CNN. “I think his tone was sharp. I think he was using the microphone in a way that he was almost yelling. And that’s not the Mamdani that we’ve seen on TikTok and the great interviews and stuff like that, so I felt like there was a little bit of a character switch here where the warm, open, embracing guy that’s close to working people was not on stage tonight, and there was some other voice on stage.”

Charlamagne blasted Jones for his comments the following morning, nominating him in his signature “Donkey of the Day” segment.

“Man, shut the F up forever, Okay? Damn. There was no opportunity missed. The man just won. Alright? He just won. After you won, yes, you’re going to celebrate. Yes, you’re going to talk loud,” Charlamagne responded to Jones’ comments. “What do you mean he wasn’t warm enough? He took a victory lap, and he deserved to take a victory lap because he won. I just don’t understand how in the era of Trump, we’re still telling people how to talk. The language of politics is dead, and Donald Trump killed it. And you know when you can really talk that talk? After you win.”

Charlamagne struggled to discern which part of the speech Jones possibly could have objected to, saying his best guess was Mamdani’s rhetoric where he condemned landlords and the wealthy in the city by comparing them to President Donald Trump.

“If anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him,” Mamdani said in his victory speech.

Charlemagne argued that there was nothing divisive in Mamdani’s speech.

“The reason a lot of things don’t change in this country is because you don’t have enough politicians that are willing to challenge capitalism, and Zohran is doing that. So, how can Van Jones be mad that someone is challenging capitalism and authoritarian strategy?,” he said.

He then turned to his guest, former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan, asking him to explain why Jones might have found the speech divisive.

Hasan answered that it would be hard to get inside Jones’ mindset, but offered the context that Jones had once praised Trump’s first speech before a Joint Session of Congress in 2017, and declared Trump “became President of the United States in that moment.”

“So Van Jones thinks that Donald Trump gives unifying speeches that make him president, but thinks Zohran Mamdani, who’s united a multi-racial, multicultural, multi-income coalition, is divisive? That tells you more about Van Jones than it does tell you about Zohran Mamdani,” Hasan argued.
