Chase has launched new welcome bonuses on all three Avios credit cards. You can now earn 100,000 Avios from each card when you spend $7,500 or more within three months. Let’s see the details of the new offer and the benefits each card provides.

All three cards offer the following benefits:

• Earn:
  • 3 Avios for every $1 spent on purchases with Iberia, British Airways, LEVEL, and Aer Lingus.
  • 2 Avios for every $1 spent on hotel accommodations when booked directly with the hotel
  • 1 Avios for every $1 spent on all other purchases.
• Extended Warranty Protection
• Purchase Protection for 120 days against damage or theft up to $500 per claim and $50,000 per account.
• No Foreign Transaction Fees

Then there are some card specific perks:

  • 10% off paid Iberia flights
  • Every calendar year you make $30,000 in purchases, you receive a $1,000 Iberia flight discount voucher to use toward two tickets on the same flight

Eligibility

This product is not available to either current cardmembers of this credit card, or previous cardmembers of this credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months. This card also falls under the Chase 5/24 rule.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

This is one of the better offers that we have seen for these three Avios credit cards. The highest ever offer was for 125,000 Avios but with a lot more spend. Keep in mind that Avios can also be used on Qatar Airways, Finnair and Vueling.

These new bonuses will get you good value, but considering the card falls under the Chase 5/24 rule, you should probably take a look at other Chase products first.

British Airways, Iberia and AerLingus have launched new welcome bonuses for their Avios credit cards. These offers are available on each airline’s website and can earn you up to 100,000 Avios from each card. But you need to spend a considerable amount for the maximum bonus. That means that most people will probably prefer these 85,000 Avios bonuses. But let’s take a look at the details below, and you can decide for youself.

  • Earn 75,000 Bonus Avios after you spend $5,000 within the first three months of account opening.
  • Plus an additional 25,000 Avios after you spend $20,000 total within the first 12 months of account opening.

All three are separate frequent flyer programs, but you can easily transfer Avios between them as long as your frequent flyer account has been open for at least 90 days. Avios can also be used on Qatar Airways, Finnair and Vueling.

Currently you can earn 85,000 Avios when you apply for one of these cards, and then spend $5,000 in three months. These new offers will get you only 75,000 Avios after spending $5,000 in three months, However, you can earn an extra 25,000 Avios after you spend $20,000 total within the first 12 months. That second part of the bonus just gets you an additional 5X on $15,000 spend, which can be better used elsewhere.

When you consider the fact that these cards are subject to Chase 5/24 rule, you should probably take a look at other Chase products first if you are eligible. The Chase Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire Reserve cards currently have welcome bonuses of 75,000 points for example (85,000 in-branch for CSP), and those points are way more valuable and versatile.
