  • Auburn star wide receiver reportedly entering transfer portal

    The Auburn Tigers are looking like they are going to have to hit the reset button as a program — another one of their players is reportedly entering the transfer portal.

    With the start of head coach Alex Golesh, the Tigers have seen numerous players declare their intentions to enter the transfer portal over the last few weeks.

    None of them have been anywhere near as significant as the news that broke on Monday. Star wide receiver Cam Coleman seems to be the latest player entering the portal, according to a report from On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

    Coleman — who has racked up over 1,300 yards and 13 touchdowns over the last two seasons — will instantly become the top available player in the portal and will be sought after by every team in the country looking to add a wide receiver.

    The star wideout joins fellow soon-to-be former Tigers in the portal, including Malcolm Simmons, Horatio Fields, Jay Crawford, Robert Woodyard, Kayin Lee, Ashton Daniels and numerous others. It looks like what could be a painful rebuild for Auburn really begins now.

    Of course, Golesh will supplement from the portal himself. There’s a case to be made for not getting too broken up about gutting a roster that just went 5-7, but Tiger fans are rightfully upset to lose Coleman.

    Coleman’s moves in the transfer portal could end up breaking NIL records, and have now made him the most-followed recruit of the offseason.

In Pac-12 play, the Utes stand as the second-best rushing offense, averaging 180.7 yards per game. Their formidable defense holds opponents to a mere 78.0 rushing yards per game, ranking fifth in the FBS.

    Junior quarterback Bryson Barnes has showcased his skills this season, completing 58.4% of his passes for 633 yards, with four touchdowns and three interceptions. Barnes is a key playmaker for the Utes.

    The Utes’ all-purpose yardage leaders include Ja’Quinden Jackson, a sophomore running back, with 471 yards; Mikey Matthews, a freshman wide receiver, with 440 yards; and Sione Vaki, a sophomore who contributes both as a safety and running back, with 394 yards.

    Away: Oregon Ducks

    On the other side of the field, the Oregon Ducks have proven to be an offensive powerhouse. They rank second in both scoring (47.0 points per game) and total offense (551.6 yards per game), making them the only FBS team in the top 10 for both rushing (6th with 225.43 yards per game) and passing offense (8th with 326.1 yards per game).

    Bo Nix, the quarterback, shines with a 78.0% completion rate over seven games, placing him among elite passers. He’s nationally sixth in passing touchdowns and completions, hitting 182 passes to 11 different targets, proving his versatility.

    On the defensive end, Oregon ranks 16th in scoring defense (17.0 PPG) and 20th in total defense (312.6 YPG). Notably, they excel in rushing defense, sitting 12th, allowing just 95.14 YPG.

    In 2023, QB Drew Allar has thrown over 150 passes without a single interception. Allar’s completed 65.2% of his passes, accumulating 1,254 yards and 12 touchdowns, while also contributing three rushing scores.

    But the Nittany Lions don’t stop at their quarterback; they’ve got a running back trio of dynamic sophomores Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton, along with redshirt senior Treyson Potts. Each of them has surpassed the 1,200 career rushing yards mark, a feat achieved by only seven FBS teams in the nation.

    Defensively, Penn State leads the nation in total defense, passing defense, passing efficiency defense, first downs allowed, and sacks per game.
