  • Bojangles debuts new fall-inspired menu item, but it won’t stick around

Bojangles is putting a seasonal twist on its famous buttermilk biscuits.

The salted caramel apple crisp arrived on menus Sept. 29 at participating Bojangles restaurants nationwide, the Charlotte-based chicken chain said in a news release.

The limited-time treat features a “made-from-scratch” biscuit topped with warm apples, cinnamon streusel and salted caramel, a product description reads.

“We’ve taken that timeless flavor combination and put a Bojangles twist on it,” Marshall Scarborough, vice president of menu and culinary innovation at Bojangles, said in the release.

“The contrasting flavors and textures of warm caramel sauce, cinnamon streusel and spiced apples are a perfect match with our buttermilk biscuit,” he said.

The salted caramel apple crisp is now available in store and online for a limited time, though Bojangles didn’t say for how long. Customers can get it a la carte, or order it as an add-on to any combo or family meal, the restaurant said.

    Bojangles’ seasonal cobblers

It’s the latest flavor to join Bojangles’ lineup of seasonal fruit cobblers. For the summer, the chain briefly brought back its peach cobbler dessert and Bird Dog — both crowd favorites.

The former featured peach filling, icing and cinnamon sugar on a buttermilk biscuit.
