MISSOURI CITY, Texas (KTRK) — A large gas leak has closed multiple streets near Sienna Parkway in Missouri City, on Friday afternoon, according to officials.

Authorities said that emergency crews are working on the gas leak near Sienna Parkway and McKeever Road.

Northbound Sienna Parkway is closed, and traffic is being diverted from Steep Bank Trace to McKeever Road, causing delays, the City of Missouri said, adding that drivers should avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Officials stated that the leak was caused by a construction crew working in the area.

Due to unfavorable wind conditions, evacuations are not being conducted, city officials said.
